Cases_

Three institutional engagements that shaped the practice.

The cases below are public engagements with institutional clients across Catalonia. Each one shaped how DDV now approaches digital transformation in the construction industry — the patterns, the friction points, the artefacts that hold up to board scrutiny. For confidentiality reasons, current and recent private-sector engagements are not detailed publicly. They are available under NDA on request.

Case 01 Multi-year BIM strategy

BIM Roadmap 2026–2031 for the Ajuntament de Barcelona

Client: Ajuntament de Barcelona — via Fundació BIT Habitat

A capital city public administration at significant scale needed a five-year BIM transformation roadmap. The complexity wasn't technical — it was institutional. Multiple departments at uneven readiness, an operational reality that cannot pause for redesign, and a horizon long enough to span more than one administrative cycle. The ask was for a roadmap that would survive both political turnover and the friction of internal change.

Case 02 Technical document authoring

BIM technical prescriptions for Diputació de Barcelona's institutional tender

Client: Diputació de Barcelona

A regional public authority was preparing a corporate-wide tender for the procurement of BIM implementation services. The technical prescriptions had to set a reference standard rigorous enough to be applied uniformly across an organization with multiple operational domains, and clear enough that mid-market engineering firms could bid on it without ambiguity. The challenge was less about technical depth and more about institutional translation: turning best-practice BIM standards into clauses that technical and procurement teams could all sign off on.

Case 03 BIM coordination strategy

BIM coordination for an AMB public infrastructure project

Client: Àrea Metropolitana de Barcelona (AMB)

A public-sector infrastructure project at metropolitan scale was being delivered by a multi-party supply chain — institutional client, lead contractor, trade specialists, and external coordination support. The challenge wasn't modelling: every party already had its own. The challenge was getting the models, the incident workflows, and the information delivery to converge on a coherent reference the institutional client could rely on.
