BIM Roadmap 2026–2031 for the Ajuntament de Barcelona_
Multi-year BIM strategy
The brief_
A capital city public administration at significant scale needed a five-year BIM transformation roadmap. The complexity wasn't technical — it was institutional. Multiple departments at uneven readiness, an operational reality that cannot pause for redesign, and a horizon long enough to span more than one administrative cycle. The ask was for a roadmap that would survive both political turnover and the friction of internal change.
What I did_
Authored the Full Ruta BIM 2026–2031 — a multi-year strategic document built on the ISO 19650 framework and openBIM standards. The work was less about prescription and more about vectoring: putting names on tensions that already existed without being formally articulated, giving coherence to dispersed efforts, helping internal change agents make their direction visible from positions where they couldn't have done so alone.
Outcome_
Document formally adopted by the Ajuntament de Barcelona as the institutional reference for its 2026–2031 BIM transformation. Now in the hands of internal teams, who adapt the roadmap to their own pace and priorities — which is exactly how this kind of work should function.
